Calming Messi – AS.com

first_imgBut then Messi appeared to calm the spirits and return everything to its place. About to finish the quarter-hour game, the Argentine took the ball threw against the Basque defense, made a cassock to Arbilla, endured the Diop cob body and beat Dimitrovic. A gentleman who breaks a bad run of the Argentine, who added 4 consecutive league days without scoring. In this environment, the team was infected with the general nerves and the first minutes of Setién’s team were disastrous. Eibar tried to take advantage of it, but first Ter Stegen stopped a header from Escalante after three minutes and then the referee annulled an offside goal from Enrich. This non-conceded goal reactivated the screams against the box and the team saw how it also charged at six minutes when a part of the stands booed a pass back towards Ter Stegen as it happened a week before Getafe. The match began to get complicated for Barcelona. The both worked wonders in the game of Barça, which since then was another. Aided by a peaceful stand, the Blaugrana team submitted to Eibar. Arturo Vidal, who played in the position of false left winger (not played by Fati, nor Sergi Roberto and De Jong) in anticipation of the coming week had a couple of occasions, but it was Messi, obviously, who took the most advantage of those minutes of Barcelona dominance. In the 36th minute, a sensational change of pace allowed him to face Dimitrovic, to which he slipped the ball where it seemed geometrically impossible and a minute later he scored the third after a blunder from Griezmann that had wasted a goal given by Messi himself. With 3-0 and the game resolved, it was time to think about what is coming next week, give breaks and give entrance to Braithwaite, the last signing of Blaugrana that began to warm up already in the break although the first who entered the field were De Jong to give rest to Busquets and Umtiti to do the same with Piqué.The match fell logically in intensity with some sporadic flashes in both areas, where Dimitrovic and Ter Stegen solved the work except for an arrival of the Eibar that Escalante turned into a goal, but which was again canceled, this time by dangerous game. The Danish entered the field in the absence of 20 minutes by Griezmann in the midst of an unusual illusion by an audience that with 3-0 and having staged his anger at the box was already in a better mood. A mood that improved much more with the last two goals, Messi and Arthur, in which the Danish was decisive. What started in anger ended at party. The Argentinian needed 40 minutes to change the mood of a Camp Nou that began abroncando the box for the latest events and ended up surrendered to the lighthouse, light and guide not only of the team, but of the institution that marked a hat-trick to cement the triumph Barça 5-0 against Eibar and face with renewed spirits a decisive week in which Naples and Real Madrid await. The game began six minutes late because of a problem in the audio connection of the stadium with the VOR room that was made eternal to President Josep Maria Bartomeu. The audience began with a blink against the box, which was answered by applause from the supporters of the board, which made the shouts of “Bartomeu resignation” worse. Bafana coach confident ahead of Afcon

first_img16 January 2013Coach Gordon Igesund is confident that Bafana Bafana are well prepared to make noise in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off on Saturday with South Africa facing Cape Verde in the tournament opener at Johannesburg’s National Stadium. In a hour-long phone-in programme on radio station SAfm earlier this week, Igesund defended his charges’ results – they lost 1-0 to Norway and drew 0-0 with Algeria in their two most recent matches – saying he had ensured the players were tested by quality opposition.Igesund said he could have arranged warm-up matches against lesser opposition, which almost certainly would have resulted in wins, but those victories would have given fans a distorted picture of the ability of his team. Playing against sides like Brazil, Poland, Norway and Algeria really put the players through their paces, reckoned Igesund, and he hoped that the rewards would be reaped in Afcon 2013.Presidential supportOn Tuesday, Bafana Bafana received the backing of President Jacob Zuma, who visited them at Orlando Stadium. Zuma addressed the players in private and then spoke out against critics of the team, saying: “There are too many critics in this country, and I was telling the team that others who are critics have never touched the ball and they don’t know how it feels on the pitch.“I was telling them that we are satisfied that the team is ready; we have seen it in the recent matches they have played,” Zuma said.“We are satisfied that the team is well prepared for the tournament and we came to say to them they must relax and not be tense and not listen to the critics.‘I am confident’“I am confident at this time, more than at any other time that we will show people what we are made of as South Africans,” Zuma said.“I also wanted to tell the team that the entire country is behind them, even those that are critical; it is because of the love they have for the team. I said I want to touch the cup, because if it is won by another country I won’t touch it.“Looking at them, I can tell they are ready and confident.”Looking for a goal scorerBafana Bafana are looking for a goal scorer to emerge during Afcon 2013, much like Benni McCarthy did in Burkina Faso in 1998. McCarthy tied with Hossam Hassan of Egypt as the tournament’s top goal scorer and, not coincidently, both teams made the final, with Egypt winning 2-0.Two years earlier, in 1996, Zambia’s Kalusha Bwalya was the top goal scorer with five goals, which helped the Zambians reach the semi-finals. South Africa’s John Moshoeu and Mark Williams were the second leading scorers, on four goals each, and South Africa lifted the Afcon trophy.Igesund was at pains to point out that his charges had dominated their games against Norway and Algeria, both ranked in the the 20s by Fifa, enjoying 70 percent of the possession and more chances than their opponents.Tovey’s viewNeil Tovey, the captain of the 1996 Africa Cup of Nations winning team, suggested that the current side needs more movement up front.Indeed, it was noticeable how tied to certain areas of the field Bafana Bafana’s attacking players appeared to be in their recent warm-up matches. There is certainly room for some insightful running up front. The issue, as it has been for a long time, is finishing. Bafana are creating enough chances to win. They appear able to compete with any of the African nations in the possession stakes. They simply need to convert those chances, and the country could again be partying like it did in 1996.Would you like to use this article in your publication or on your website? Ovum: The Continued Rise of the SaaS Model for IT Services

first_imgalex williams SaaS-based ITSM models serve as a way for IT departments to work more efficiently under tight resource constraints.Mann writes:“A major benefit of SaaS for ITSM is that it is aimed directly at the heart of the now commonly overstretched IT function – scarce IT resources can be redirected away from internal IT systems to focus on the delivery of business-critical IT services. However, for many organisations the key benefit of SaaS is its simple, subscription-based pricing model – usually a cost per month (or year) per user that covers everything needed to operate, including support and maintenance. This provides a lower and consistent level of expenditure that is opex rather than a capex investment.”This sector of the SaaS market is reflective of the overall difference between online and on-premise applications. Like any SaaS environment, the development cycles are far more frequent than on-premise applications. On average, a SaaS application will be upgraded several times a year, compared to on-premise tools that get updated every 12 to 18 months. So it makes sense that a company like BMC would offer its own SaaS environment to compliment its own on-site offering. But enterprise clients need to beware of what they are getting with any SaaS service. SaaS can be confusing when vendors make up their own definitions.Mann says it well:“A SaaS solution must be architected such that the customer is able to self-customise its ‘application instance’, with these customisations preserved through what should truly be an effortless upgrade process. Without these facilities, the SaaS business case is not so compelling.”Expect on-premise vendors to push a hybrid approach. That might work for some enterprises but the cost efficiencies of a pure SaaS model will be hard to pass up for organizations working with limited resources. Bhutan opens consulate in Guwahati

first_imgBhutan on Friday became the second country after Bangladesh to open a consulate in Guwahati.Bangladesh had in May last year established a consular office headed by an assistant high commissioner, underlining the city’s growing reputation as a trade and connectivity hub of a region of 45.6 million people.“Bhutan’s diplomatic relationship with Assam precedes that with India, and history refers to cordial relationship between the kings of Bhutan and medieval Assam. It is thus apt for us to set up our second consulate here in Guwahati,” said Bhutan’s Foreign Minister Damcho Dorji, after inaugurating the consulate along with Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.Bhutan has had a consulate in Kolkata for years besides a High Commission in New Delhi.“Bhutan’s social, cultural and economic ties with Assam are deep-rooted, and Guwahati has been a prime destination for Bhutanese traders, students and patients referred by our doctors to hospitals in India,” Mr. Dorji said.“Assam has also been a pilgrimage destination for Bhutanese Buddhists, justifying the Himalayan country’s focus on the State 50 years after Delhi and Thimphu established diplomatic ties on January 8, 1968,” he added.New flightThe Bhutanese Foreign Minister announced a Drukair flight between Bhutan and Singapore via Guwahati. Drukair or Royal Bhutan Airlines has been operating a periodic flight between Paro, Bhutan’s only international airport, and Bangkok via Guwahati.Mr. Sonowal hoped Bhutan would exploit the benefits of Delhi’s Act East Policy “just as we would like to increase our Gross National Happiness.”The Bhutan government is guided by the philosophical Gross National Happiness, an index used to measure the collective happiness and well-being of the population in that country.Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, who arrived on Thursday to attend the two-day Global Investors’ Summit from Saturday, had earlier said Bhutan would organise several programmes in India to celebrate the 50 years of friendship between the two countries.last_img read more

Opposition corners govt over leak of CAG oil report, BJP demands probe

first_imgA united Opposition on Friday further cornered the government over CAG oil report leak. The BJP has demanded a probe into the leak of the draft report.Irregularities in the policy were highlighted in the draft the Comptroller and Auditor General leaked to the media.Calling this a season of scams, BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi said the latest example is the manner in which gas and petroleum exploration companies were given a free run by the UPA.”How is it possible for the draft CAG report to be leaked? I suspect. I suspect this has been done deliberately by the government. For me, this amounts to a breach of the House as this has to be tabled first before the House. This needs to be inquired immediately. The government has still not denied the report. How long will the government take to vet the report so that it becomes the final report at the earliest? The government is actively backing and promoting corruption,” Joshi said.Raising the heat on governmnet, CPI-M has demanded immediate action against officials who have allegedly colluded in this sordid affair, causing a huge loss to the exchequer.Calling it yet another example of crony capitalism during UPA’s rule, the CPI-M has said it will raise the issue in Parliament’s monsoon session.”After a series a scams, there seems to be another scam unfolding,” CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechuri said. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had on June 14 ordered a preliminary enquiry into the hydrocarbon case after CAG’s draft report indicted the government for favouring private oil firms, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Cairn India.advertisementFor more news on India, click here. For more news on Business, click here. For more news on Movies, click here. For more news on Sports, click here.last_img read more
